Frontiers Abroad is an educational organization dedicated to providing interdisciplinary science and environmental education in an outdoor, field based setting to foster a connection and respect with the natural world and teach responsible techniques in managing our earth.

Our vision is a new style of interdisciplinary science education that empowers students to think critically and creatively to solve the world’s paramount environmental problems. We believe that field based education fosters a connection with the natural world and inspires students to get involved in the conservation and preservation of our world. Additionally, earth’s currents problems incorporate various disciplines of science and thus a whole earth system science approach must be used to properly address and solve the problems. Our vision is a new style of interdisciplinary science education that empowers students to think critically and creatively to solve the world’s paramount environmental problems.

Frontiers Abroad study abroad program offers a unique experience that combines our developed field based curriculum with a traditional semester long campus experience so students enjoy and appreciate New Zealand in its fullest. Our field course programs are located in the biologically and geologically diverse and dynamic island nation of New Zealand. New Zealand sits on the edge of the biggest tectonic plate on Earth, making it home to violent volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, cyclones and tsunamis. Its isolation has led to a country rich in biodiversity with unique flora and fauna. Something about the introduction of man and the resource management angle. Our vision is a new style of interdisciplinary science education that empowers students to think critically and creatively to solve the world’s paramount environmental problems.
